Hi, I'm Alicia.

Garment care has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I began working in the garment care industry immediately after high school and spent years learning every aspect of garment care, fabric handling, presentation, quality control, and customer service.

Through hard work, reliability, and a commitment to doing things the right way, I was given opportunities to grow into leadership roles and oversee garment quality, workflow, and presentation standards. Along the way, I developed a deep appreciation for the details that make a difference and the trust people place in those caring for their garments.

Over the years, I have worked with everything from everyday clothing to wedding gowns, formalwear, business attire, and specialty garments. I learned that clothing is often connected to life's most meaningful moments—weddings, graduations, family celebrations, interviews, photographs, and special occasions. Those moments deserve care, attention, and professionalism.

In 2020, I experienced the heartbreaking loss of my twin sister. Like many life-changing experiences, it caused me to reflect on what mattered most and what I wanted the next chapter of my life to look like. After a successful career in garment care, I decided it was time to pursue a dream of building something of my own—something that would allow me to combine my experience, my passion for helping others, and my commitment to exceptional service.

That dream became Shaw Steam Co.

Today, I have the privilege of bringing luxury garment care directly to clients throughout the Kansas City metro area. Whether I'm preparing a wedding gown, steaming garments for a bridal party, refreshing professional attire, or helping someone get ready for an important event, my goal is always the same: to help people feel confident, prepared, and at their very best.

For me, Shaw Steam Co. is about more than removing wrinkles. It's about providing peace of mind, attention to detail, and a level of care that helps clients enjoy their special moments without one more thing to worry about.
